Biography

Rachel Spicer was born on June 12, 1994. She started competing as an optional gymnast in 2005 and quickly made a name for herself in the Junior Olympic Scene. She earned silver medal on both uneven bars and floor exercise as the 2007 Region III Championships as a level nine gymnast and qualified to the 2007 Western National Championships. At Western National Championships she earned 7th place all-around as well as third on uneven bars and fifth on floor. 2008 Rachel competed her first year of level ten earning a gold medal on uneven bars, floor exercise, and all around at Texas State Championships. She went on to earn silver medals on vault, floor exercise, and all around at Region III Championships. At her very first JO National Championships she placed fourth all around and earned a spot on the JO National Team. In 2009 She swept the state competition earning gold medals on all four events and the all around. She went on to place first on vault, uneven bars, floor exercise, and the all around at Region III Championships. Rachel once again traveled to Junior Olympic Nationals where she placed fourth all around and third on vault.

Rachel continued competing level 10 in 2010 where she became the Level 10 Texas State Champion. She went on to win vault, floor, and the all around competition at region III Championships and qualified to JO Nationals. She concluded the 2010 season by becoming the 2010 JO National Champion! In 2011 Rachel swept the podium at State Championships earning gold medals on vault, bars, beam, floor, and the all around. She went on to defend her title at the 2011 Region III Championships and once again qualified to JO Natipoal Championships. Rachel earned a bronze medal at the 2011 JO National Championships as well as a silver on vault and bronze on floor.

Rachel began her senior year at Marcus High School in the fall of 2011. She will be graduating in 2012 and is looking forward to competing for the University of Florida.
