Chelsea Elizabeth Davis was born on November 2, 1992 in Austin, Texas to Peggy and John Davis. Like many elite gymnasts Chelsea began gymnastics at the age of 3 when she was started pre-school classes at Jazz N Gym in her hometown of Lakeway, Texas. She quickly advanced and was added to their team at the age of 4 and started competing in the AGA when she was 5 years old.

Chelsea moved to National Elite Gymnastics in Austin, Texas in June of 2003. She began competing as level 8 gymnast. She started out the season strong by placing 2nd all-around at the WOGA Classic and went on to win the 2004 Texas State Championships title. Chelsea traveled to the Regional Championships where she became the 2004 Region Three Junior A Champion. In 2005 Chelsea moved up to level 9 and won the 2005 Texas State Championships qualifying to the Regional Championships. Chelsea placed second all-around and won both vault and bars at the competition and was on her way to the Western National Championships which were held in St. Louis, Missouri. Chelsea had a great competition taking the gold medals on bars as well as all-around. Chelsea moved up to level 10 in 2006 and just missed making her first Junior Olympic Team.

Shortly after the 2006 season Chelsea and her family decided to move to Texas Dreams Gymnastics. Chelsea flourished at her new gym qualifying to the international elite level in 2006. She competed at the 2006 US Classic which was held in Kansas City, MO and scored well enough to qualify to the 2006 US Championships. Unfortunately Chelsea was injured shortly before the competition and forced to withdraw.

Chelsea trained hard to regain her strength from her injury in 2006 and succeeded in qualifying international elite again in 2007. Unfortunately a badly timed muscle strain forced Chelsea to only compete two events at the 2007 US Classic. Through a strong showing on two events Chelsea’s petition to the 2007 US Championships was accepted and she was on her way to San Jose, CA. Chelsea showed the crowd her talent and finished 4th all-around, high enough to qualify for her first USA National Team! Chelsea is now looking forward to international assignment and everything that her future holds.

In November of 2007 Chelsea was named to the Jr. Pan American Games and traveled to Guatemala where the USA took first as a team and Chelsea won the bronze individually and a silver on beam. In March of 2008 Chelsea was selected to compete at the 2008 Gymnix International competition in Montreal Canada. Once again team USA dominated the competition winning the gold medal as a team and Chelsea took home the gold individually. She then traveled to Jesolo, Italy where she replaced an injured teammate at the 2008 Jesolo Grand Prix Competition. Chelsea placed 6th AA and team USA once again captured the gold medal.

Chelsea moved into the senior ranks in 2008, when she would finally turn 16 years old. She was scheduled to compete at her 2nd US National Championships in Boston, MA in June. Unfortunately just days before the competition Chelsea tweaked her knee and was forced to withdraw from the competition. Chelsea petitioned to the 2008 US Olympic Trials and her petition was accepted. She traveled to Philadelphia, PA just two weeks later and successfully complete two days of competition and was named to the 2008 US Olympic Training Squad! Although injuries plagued Chelsea in 2009, she came back strong in 2010 requalifying to the international elite level at the Buckeye Classic. She succesfully petitioned to the 2010 US Championships, where she finished 5th all around. Chelsea was later named to the 2010 US World Championship Team!
